RAPIDAN TOWNSHIP NOTICE
ABSENTEE VOTING

Absentee voting for Rapidan Township residents for Annual Election begins Friday, February 6, 2026 and ends on Monday, March 9, 2026 by 5:00 pm. Absentee voting will be administered by your Clerk/Treasurer; DJ will be available by phone: 507-779-6610 daily during this time. The Rapidan Town Hall will be open on Saturday, March 7, 2026, between 10:00 am -12:00 pm (noon) for absentee voting. Absentee voting will also be available Monday, March 9, from 3:00 - 5:00 pm. 

Dates to Remember:
• March 9th  Regular Monthly Township Board Meeting 6:30 pm
• March 10th  Annual Township Election 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm
• March 10th  Annual Township Meeting 8:00 pm
• March 10th  Board of Canvass Meeting (after annual meeting)
• March 17th  Alternate Date Bad Weather for Annual Meeting 8:00 pm.

It is Ordered and Notice is given that on  February 26, 2026 at  9:05 AM, a hearing will be held in this Court at Blue Earth County Justice Center, 401 Carver Road, Mankato, Minnesota 56001, on a petition for the adjudication of intestacy and determination of Decedent’s heirs, and for the appointment of Curtis Hammar, whose address is 2115 Union Drive, Lakewood, CO 80215 as Personal Representative of the Estate of the Decedent in an unsupervised administration
Any objections to the petition must be raised at the hearing or filed with the Court prior to the hearing. If the petition is proper and no objections are filed or raised, the personal representative will be appointed with the full power to administer the Decedent’s estate, including the power to collect all assets; to pay all legal debts, claims, taxes, and expenses; to sell real and personal property; and to do all necessary acts for the Decedent’s estate.
Notice is further given that, subject to Minn. Stat. § 524.3-801, all creditors having claims against the Decedent’s estate are required to present the claims to the personal representative or to the Court within four (4) months after the date of this notice or the claims will be barred.

Blue Earth County 
Board Summary
The Blue Earth County Board meeting was held Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. in the Blue Earth County Courthouse, Commissioners’ Room, was attended by Commissioners Kip Bruender, Patty O’Connor, Kevin Paap, Mark Piepho, and Vance Stuehrenberg.  Also present were County Administrator Bob Meyer, County Attorney Pat McDermott, and Administrative Assistant Stephanie Jahnke.  

Commissioners voted 5-0, unless otherwise noted:

• Appoint Commissioner Bruender as 2026 Board Chair and Commissioner O’Connor as 2026 Vice-Chair. 
• Approve the committee assignments for 2026.
• Approve the 2026 Board Meeting dates.
• Approve the Findings and Order setting the Minneopa Creek Cleaning Hearing. 
• Approve the engineer’s memo removing County Ditch 56, Branch 1 reroute plans. 
• Approve a resolution to submit, adopt and implement the Minnesota River Mankato Comprehensive Watershed Management Plan. 
• Approve the change order for design work for the CSAH 9 bridge over the Blue Earth River. 
• Approve the December 16, 2025 Board Minutes.
• Approve the bills as presented.
• Approved the minimum salary of the County Attorney and County Sheriff to be elected at the 2026 general election. 
• Approve the 2026 crop damage schedule as presented.
• Accept the low bid from the Mankato Free Press for publication of the delinquent tax list in 2026. 
• Approve a resolution accepting the low bid from the Mankato Free Press for the publication of the delinquent tax list in 2026. 
• Accept the low bid from Maple River Messenger for publication of 2026 Board Meeting summaries.
• Approve the bid from the Mankato Free Press for all legal notices in 2026. 
• Approve the bid from the Mankato Free Press for the layout of the annual financial statement.
• Approve the bid from the Mankato Free Press for the printing of the annual financial statement.
